To the staff at The World Peace Sanctuary,

I thought you might like to see the children of Housatonic Child Care in Salisbury, Connecticut enjoying the 2008 Peace Pals International Art Exhibition.

The drawings from the young children are the inspiration from the Peace Pals Art Exhibit after our discussion of Friendship week.  May Peace Prevail On Earth!

Cindy Snow
PS~The children send a big and LOUD Thank You!!

11th Annual Peace Pals International Art Exhibition and Gala – Beacon, New York – USA

September 24, 2008 By Peace Pals International

[:en]

It has been a dream come true to have The Peace Pals International Art Exhibition return for its official debut to Dutchess County, New York, home of The World Peace Sanctuary.

We are most humble in our endeavor to inspire thousands of children throughout the world. It has been such a joy to know that these children and teens, excitedly await in anticipation, year after year to express their creativity and talent in our Peace Pals International Art Exhibition. The network of participants and countries continue to expand! More than four thousand drawings from thirty-nine countries were submitted by the world’s future artists and peacemakers who have embraced the Universal Message May Peace Prevail On Earth with such impeccable detail to compliment this year’s theme “Friendship.”

It fills our hearts to “see” through their eyes, how they view their world, with the promise of hope, with the innocence and fearlessness of their love for one another, nature and the animal kingdom. They truly get it!

Children put on a musical performance with Pete Seeger, Chris Ruhe and a member of The Howland Wolves.

Kids Day America International – 2008

Care for a Child…Touch a Generation
Bridgeview Plaza, Highland, New York 12528

kids_day_america_051708_img_2031.jpgKids Day America International is an international event that is dedicated to children’s health, safety, and environmental issues. Each year approximately 2,000 Chiropractors collaborate to organize this event in their hometowns and cities to spread the message: “Care for a Child…Touch a Generation.” While Kids Day America allows families to gain a wealth of information from great organizations, this was a perfect venue to disseminate information regarding the 2008 Peace Pals International Art Exhibition. The knitted flags from Scotland were on display for all to enjoy. What an amazing day to reach out to so many with the message, “May Peace Prevail On Earth.

Conerly Road School – New Jersey, USA

November 29, 2007 By Peace Pals International

[:en]

conerly-road-school-004-copy.jpgSignificant to the Peace Pals success at Conerly Road School is the support of the principal, Mrs. Donna Silva-Burnett. She embraces and spreads her desire for peace by providing Mrs. Virginia Abu-Bakr, Mrs. Rena Stewart and Mrs. Libby Marx (all partners in coordinating the “Peacemakers” of Conerly Road School) with a forum to promote peace and develop “Peacemakers,” as their young ambassadors are called.

Mrs. Stewart’s fourth grade class prepared letters to Sister Lavina Herman-Gill in Pakistan. Sr. Lavina had visited the school earlier in the year and shared with the youth her story of creating an orphanage/school for the abandoned young ones in Pakistan. Students were writing the letters to each of the children in hopes todevelop continued communications.

At the closing of the visit, students engaged in unison by saying “May Peace be in Pakistan. May Peace be in New Jersey. May Peace Prevail On Earth.”

During the evening event, a harmonious and very populated gathering of dear hearts and gentle people represented 25 countries! Among them were Argentina, Cuba, Egypt, Nigeria and Turkey. There was authentic dress and cuisine from most countries.

Students flocked to the WPPS table to prepare origami Peace Poles just before the program began.
